Partnerships

  • The University prides itself on building strong partnerships with industry and commerce, education and with local communities.

    Industry and commerce

Working with industry and commerce, our research and knowledge transfer partnerships ensure our research strengths and skills are shared locally and internationally.

    Industry placements

The partnerships we build with business and industry create opportunties for our students to undertake paid placements - spending up to a year in paid employment during their studies.

    Academic partners

Our partnerships with schools, colleges and other universities internationally, encourage the exchange staff and students on schemes such as Erasmus and allow college students to progress to degree study directly after finishing their college study.

  • South West Articulation Hub (SWAH)

The aim of the South West Articulation Hub (SWAH) partnership has been to develop a sustainable infrastructure that supports academic articulation across the region between providers of qualifications which sit at level 7 and above on the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework. In reality, this partnership is based on the development of strong collaborative initiatives between colleges, universities and employers in the South West Region to offer increased opportunities and meaningful articulation agreements for college students and work-based learners to build upon HNC/D or VQ/MA qualifications which will allow seamless progression to UWS degrees with advanced entry.

    Scottish Baptist College

Since September 1996, the Scottish Baptist College has been able to offer a four year Bachelor of Divinity (BD) degree validated by UWS. By doing so, UWS was the first new Scottish university to offer a degree in divinity. The Scottish Baptist College is affiliated to the School of Education and graduation ceremonies take place at the Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church in Paisley. This partnership has led to a number of Diplomas and Certificates in Theology and Pastoral Studies being developed and validated by UWS.
