Learning & Teaching

Innovation and excellence

Close cooperation with colleagues in industry and commerce means that our courses reflect the latest thinking and trends in the marketplace and complement the demands of these sectors.

The University is committed to continually enhancing the quality of the teaching and learning process to ensure that all awards and activities conform to the academic standards expected across the UK university sector.

With a mix of lectures, tutorials, field work and practical labs, our students gain experience in a real-world setting. This vocational approach to learning means our students get off to a flying start in the employment market upon graduation.

On or off-campus

Our online learning system, Blackboard, is used to support flexible teaching and learning. Blackboard is available to all students across our campuses and is also available for students studying off campus, undertaking one of the University’s distance or open learning programmes.

We'll Facilitate You

Our ongoing investment enables students to gain access to equipment and facilities, as found in industry, to help them gain the practical skills and experience to further widen their prospects in the employment market.

Study Any time you like

As well as full-time taught courses, the University offers many other modes and types of study. You can study part-time in the day, evening or at weekends, by attending classes or studying purely online.

"Students are complimentary about the quality of teaching and the extensive and timely feedback on their progress.

Lecturers are approachable and offer good guidance, with an open-door policy and an appointment system."
