Facilities & Support

Labs and Equipment

The Hamilton campus offers excellent teaching accommodation, IT resources and industry standard laboratories.

In particular the campus boasts the latest teaching technology for nursing and midwifery students with a suite of artificial simulated environments, where nursing students learn nursing practice in a realistic context using sophisticated software in a simulated clinical ward. Midwifery students’ equipment includes a birthing room with child birth simulator and a birthing pool for simulated water births.

Product design computer laboratories include industry-leading Pro-Engineer Wildfire Design and Simulation software, in addition to a recently refurbished design studio, equipped with model-making and prototyping facilities.

Hamilton Facilities - Nursing

Students’ Union

Friendly Students’ Union including licensed bar, pool tables and coffee lounge which offers a programme of entertainment throughout the year with opportunity to join a range of clubs and societies. The Students’ Union also operate two shops on campus which are open during term time.

Library

The well-equipped library has 160 study spaces, open access IT facilities, photocopy facilities, wireless internet access and a range of resources including 80,000 books and 1,000 journals.

Student Accommodation

Our modern halls of residence are ideally located on campus with guaranteed places to first year students. Accommodating 156 students with a single study bedroom, each flat houses 6 students with a communal lounge and kitchen, 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets.

Each bedroom is furnished and heated. The kitchen/living rooms are spacious with dining table and chairs, cooker, sink, fridge freezer and storage. Some flats are adapted for residents with disabilities.

Student Services

Students have access to a range of services including financial and welfare advice, careers service, counselling service, effective learning adviser and disability resources and educational support services.

Catering

A range of catering facilities, including a refectory, coffee bar and restaurant, are available on campus with vending machines and shops offering cold drinks and snacks.

The union

Visit the Hamilton Campus Union which is situated next to the rear entrance of the Almada Building. The Union offers hot and cold snacks, a coffee lounge, licensed bar and new outside patio area.

Sport

SPORTS & LEISURE

Hamilton Campus boasts excellent Sports & Leisure facilities: comprising a conditioning suite and games hall. The centre is open seven days a week and available to students, staff and the general public (discounted membership available to students).
