UWS to award Ricky Ross with Honorary Doctorate

Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue fame is going to receive an Honorary Doctorate from University of the West of Scotland (UWS) at its graduation ceremony on Tuesday 1 December 2015 at Ayr Town Hall.

  • UWS was top in the UK for student satisfaction in a range of subjects in the National Student Survey 2015.

    Student satisfaction in Education, Childhood Studies, Civil Engineering, Computer-aided Design, Contemporary Screen Acting and Integrated Public Service was 100%. Other courses which were rated in the top 5 in the UK for student satisfaction were: Aircraft Engineering (top in Scotland and 5th in UK); Commercial Music, Commercial Sound Production, Music Technology (all 4th in UK); Filmmaking and Screen-writing (3rd in UK).
