This module requires no previous knowledge of psychology and would serve as the starting point for further study as it introduces students to the discipline of psychology by using the representation (and misrepresentation) of psychology in film. On a weekly basis, students will be introduced to a different psychological concept such as personality, intelligence, attitudes, obedience and conformity and this will form discussion of various issues throughout the teaching.
This module will allow students to gain an understanding of the different theoretical approaches within psychology and comprehend the links between the mind and human behaviour.
