SAAs Funding for Eligible students

For session 2010/11 the University has 175 full-time and 20 part-time funded places from SAAS (Student Awards Agency for Scotland) available for eligible students selected for a number of UWS postgraduate diploma programmes.

SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

UWS offers a wide range of international scholarships and full fee-paying overseas students may qualify for an award of £1,500 on receipt of a completed application with associated documentation. Our admissions officers will assess your application and you will be notified in your offer letter if you have been successful.

Accommodation bursaries are also offered to non EU full fee paying students for University accommodation.

SOURCES OF full-time and part-time POSTGRADUATE FUNDING INCLUDE:
SAAS

For session 2010/11 the University has 175 full-time and 20 part-time funded places from SAAS (Student Awards Agency for Scotland) available for eligible students selected for the UWS postgraduate diploma programmes listed in the "Funded postgraduate courses" section to the left

ILA500

If you are completing at least 2 modules from one of our postgraduate programmes, and your income is less than £22,000, you may be able to use an
Individual Learning Account (ILA) for support of up to £500 for part-time postgraduate study.

Discretionary and Childcare Funds

There may be some funding available to help with the costs of travel, subsistence, childcare, and equipment for postgraduate study. Information and procedures for these funds can be found at www.uws.ac.uk/funds

The Carnegie Cameron Taught Postgraduate Bursaries

Three awards are offered to Scottish students undertaking either a one year, full-time or two year, part-time taught postgraduate degree in any subject offered by University of the West of Scotland commencing in the 2009/2010 academic session.
