Applying & Applications
Applying
All applications for full-time undergraduate degree courses at the University are made through the Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS).
Generally, the closing date for applications to UCAS is 15th January of the year you wish to start university, although for certain courses, such as medicine, this date varies. If you have not applied before this date, please see Clearing Applications below.
Application forms are available from your school, college and local career service. Alternatively, forms can also be requested by contacting UCAS at the address opposite.
Application Process
If you have applied to UCAS by the January deadline, you should receive communication of whether you have been successful or unsuccessful by the end of April.
If successful, you must then inform UCAS of your decision to accept the offer by the end of May.
Further information is available at: www.ucas.ac.uk
The current fee for applicants seeking entry in September 2004 is £15 (if you are applying for more than one course) and this must be sent to UCAS with the completed entry form. If you are interesting in applying for only one course the fee is £5.
Late Applications — Clearing
Applications for entry may also be accepted during Clearing, when the final round of applications occurs in August and September of the year the course starts. To find out more about course vacancies during clearing contact the university directly, from the second week in August. However, to secure your desired course of study it is always advisable to apply through the normal UCAS application method, as there are limited course vacancies during Clearing.
If you apply after 30th June, you will go directly into clearing and the application fee is £15.
