  • Network Access

    Paisley Campus:
There are thin client PCs in the Open Access area on the 3rd floor of the Library. There is a slightly different method of logging on to thin client PCs as detailed in the guide below:

    Thin Client User Guide

At Ayr Campus, you need to Select your place of study - click on UWS and log in as detailed in the Thin Client User Guide

Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get to the login box.

Your User name is your Banner ID and your password is your network password.

You will be prompted to change your password on first login. When you log in successfully the PC will take a moment to complete a login sequence, during which the local hard disk of the PC will be cleared up to remove any trace of the previous student's session.

You can use Password Manager, the UWS self-service password reset service to reset your network password. Information and instructions are available on the Reset Password page on this site.

If you have any problems resetting your password, contact ITDS Helpdesk.

Logging out: Once you are ready to leave the PC, you must log out. If you do not, the next person using the PC will have access to your files.

Make sure you close all programs, click the START button and select Log off. Remember to take all personal belongings with you.

It is against University rules to allow someone else to use your user ID or to use another person's user ID (see the Acceptable Use Policy).
