International Lifelong Learning College Partnership Project

This page outlines a Scottish Government funded, International Lifelong Learning partnership project which is led by University of the West of Scotland. The project will have its own micro-site in due course; but this is currently under construction. When completed, you will be able to use the site to find all the relevant information for this unique project offered by University of the West of Scotland in partnership with six Scottish colleges: Ayr College; Cardonald College; Cumbernauld College; Dumfries & Galloway College; Reid Kerr College; and Stow College.

The unique aspect of this international project is that it outlines a specific route to a UK degree and postgraduate qualification which offers you: unrivalled flexibility in your study choice; affordable fees; annual scholarships; bursaries and fee reductions; and an opportunity to obtain the multiple UK qualifications of Higher National Diploma (HND), Degree (BA/BSc/BEng) and Masters (PgDip – MA/MSc) in 4 years.

Choosing to study the alternative route to a UK degree gives you:

  • Affordable and unrivaled fees
  • Scholarships each and every year of study in the programme
  • UK university degree/postgraduate qualifications in multiple disciplines (Engineering, Science, Computing, Business, Creative Industries)
  • More flexibility in entry requirements (School and English language capability) than you would expect with entry to a UK degree directly
  • The opportunity to spend the first two years of your studies in one of our partner colleges enhancing your knowledge, confidence and language skills
  • Greater pastoral support during the early stages of your studies than you might expect by transferring straight to a university education
  • The opportunity to graduate with the same UK degree/postgraduate qualification from the UK as students following a more direct study route.

University of West of Scotland is Scotland’s largest, modern university (with just under 20,000 students, including over 1300 international students) operating across four campuses in Paisley, Ayr, Dumfries and Hamilton serving west and south-west Scotland. For over 110 years, the University has been offering programmes with a vocational focus and continues to be dedicated provider of career-relevant higher education.

Our 6 partner colleges are some of the best providers of vocational, career-focused education in Scotland and are based in very close proximity to each of our campuses. So, whether you are looking to study for a UK university qualification in an urban, coastal or a country setting we have career focused courses in a location to suit your requirements.
Further details of the project will be available here shortly.
