International Student Services

  • The International Student Support team provide information, assistance and advice to both EU and non-EU students at UWS on matters including:

    • Travel Advice - including information on when Tier 4 visa holders can travel
    • Relatives visits - including information on the documentation required in support of a visitor visa application
    • Working in the UK  - including information on the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa
    • Welfare  - including information on Council Tax
    • Study skills - including information on assistive technology
    • Quick Question Sessions

      These sessions offer an easy way to speak to a member of the International Student Support Team. 

      Team members are usually available in person from 1-2pm Monday-Friday during term-time on Paisley Campus.  Telephone/Skype sessions may be arranged for students at other campuses.  To check availability, please call 0141 848 3800.

    • UK Council for International Student Affairs

      If you need urgent advice and the International Student Support team are not available, visit the UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs) website for information on areas of concern to international students studying in the UK.

      Alternatively, you can call the UKCISA Student Advice Line on 0207 788 9214.  The line is open from 1-4pm Monday-Friday.  The service is free - you only pay for the call. 

    • Book an Appointment
      Contact The Hub at Paisley campus (Robertson Trust Building) or telephone 0141 848 3800.  Appointments can not be made by e-mail. Appointments are normally available Monday-Friday but this may vary outwith term-time.
    • Contact the International Student Support Team

      The International Student Support Team can be contacted by e-mail at internationaladvice or by telephone on 0141 848 3800. 

       Please note that appointments can not be made by e-mail. 

      E-mail communication to students who are enrolled at UWS may be sent to your Banner e-mail address only in accordance with University policy. 

    • Buddy Project

      The Buddy Project offers informal, friendly support by current UWS students to new UWS students.  For more information please see the Buddy Project webpage.
