    • Director of Advancement
      This is an important, new role within UWS - reporting directly to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor – and is designed to provide strategic leadership of a range of engagement functions that includes all fundraising and alumni activities. Working closely with the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group and UWS senior leaders, you will develop and deliver all advancement strategies, business plans and programmes to make a major contribution to the University’s income generation. Leading on fundraising income generation, you will initiate and maintain strategic partnerships with alumni, major donors, trusts and foundations, and develop and manage fundraising campaigns - for example our exciting, new Lanarkshire Campus development - supported by a team of dedicated advancement professionals. In partnership with the University community, you will also encourage a proactive fundraising culture that capitalises on all of UWS’s academic and professional assets.

      The University is seeking to appoint a new VP/PVC (Global Engagement) to further build our international profile, reputation and impact. Reporting to the Principal & Vice-Chancellor, and a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group, the postholder will have a successful track record and significant experience of international development within higher education. Able to inspire, persuade and lead across academic and professional services, s/he will demonstrate passion and vision for the impact internationalisation can have in a large, ambitious university. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a developing team and a work programme that has seen considerable progress toward our aspirations over the past two years. There will be opportunity to enhance our Global Reach Enabling Plan, promoting the University’s education and research overseas, establishing strategic partnerships, enhancing the international student experience and providing opportunities for home students to study abroad.
