The implementation of ‘Blackboard Academic Suite’ will boost the University’s online learning capabilities. Blackboard is one of the leading providers of Internet infrastructure software for e-Education.
In September 2000 the University adopted the Blackboard Learning System. Since its introduction there has been rapid growth in use of this system, with consistent positive feedback from students of its contribution to their learning experience.
The system has been at the forefront of innovation in learning and teaching at the University, providing students with access to resources via the Internet anytime of the day, opportunities to engage in individual and group-based learning on-line and enhanced feedback on their learning.
The implementation of the Blackboard Academic Suite builds on the University’s original online learning system and will provide a more individualised, broader and integrated range of support for students.
