University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover (Fachhochschule Hannover) are delighted to offer the opportunity to study for doctorate degrees (PhDs) in Niedersachsen in the academic field of health and social care.
Projects will be jointly supervised by professors from both UWS and FH Hannover and students will be able to take advantage of the facilities of both institutions.
PhD candidates are invited to apply for study in one of the following work-based and professionally-orientated research programmes:
- Evaluation of health and socioeconomic factors related to the social exclusion of ethnic minorities.
- Evaluation of health and socioeconomic factors related to the social exclusion of native deprived communities.
- The relationship between positive and negative symptoms of mental status and quality of life and social capital in urban communities.
- Mental well-being of adolescents in ethics minority urban communities.
- Mental well-being of adolescents in native deprived urban communities.
- The relationship between mental health status of parents and cognitive competencies in children of ethnic minority urban communities.
- The relationship between mental health status of parents and cognitive competencies in children of native deprived urban communities.
Projects are open to candidates with a first degree in a relevant subject.
