Logging on to a thin client pc in open access areas
There are thin client PC's in the Open Access area on the 3rd level in J block. There is a slightly different method of logging on to the PC's as detailed in the guide below:
Logging on to PC
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get to the login box.
From the “ Log on to” box, select the uws-student domain.

You are told what your password is at the ICT Induction sessions during enrolment. If you require your password to be reset, please contact ICT Customer Services.
You will be prompted to change your password on first login. When you log in successfully the pc will take a moment to complete a login sequence, during which the local hard disk of the pc will be cleared up to remove any trace of the previous student's session.
Logging out: Once you are ready to leave the pc, you must log out . If you do not the next person using the pc will have access to your files.
Make sure you close all programs, click the START button and then logoff. Remember to take all personal belongings with you.
It is against University rules to allow someone else to use your userID or to use another person's userID, please see the Acceptable Use Policy.
If you experience problems logging in, contact the ICT Customer Service teams via telephone 0141 848 3999, by email helpdesk@uws.ac.uk or in person at
