Annual Monitoring
The University reviewed its approach to enhancement and annual monitoring (EAM) during summer 2009 following the academic restructuring which took place during session 2008/09. It was agreed to establish reporting and review arrangements which would focus on the quality of the student experience through reflection at both module and programme level.
Module Review Forms (MRFs) and Programme Annual Reports (PARs) are the main EAM reports offering reflective commentary and assurance, as well as a forward-looking approach to provision and support arrangements. These reports also facilitate the consideration of any future development and plans for enhancement.
The main forums for consideration of annual monitoring information and reports will be at Subject Development Group (SDG) level and Faculty Academic Management Group (FAMG) level. The culmination of matters arising from EAM and other student-related activities will be concluded at a Student Experience Group (SEG) Seminar, to be arranged annually in February. This process is explained in more detail in the Enhancement & Annual Monitoring Handbook .
Faculties should seek to involve students in their Enhancement and Annual Monitoring activities. This is increasingly being utilised by Faculties and is seen as good practice.
In terms of annual monitoring of collaborative partnerships, UWS adopts a robust internal monitoring system to safeguard its academic awards and ensure standards are appropriate across all areas of local delivery. The key document is the Collaborative Annual Report (CAR) further information can be found in the Enhancement and Annual Monitoring Handbook.
