Urszula Roman pursued her undergraduate studies in European Political Sociology at Högskolan Dalarna in Falun, Sweden (graduated in 2008), and in Political Science (specialisation: International Politics) at Pedagogical University in Cracow, which she graduated from in 2009.

Her Master dissertation had focused on a comparative analysis of women’s political activity in Central-Eastern European countries such as: Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Currently, Urszula is a Doctorate Researcher under the supervision of Prof. Martin Myant and Prof. Mike Danson, working in the Centre for Contemporary European Studies at the University of West of Scotland, Business School.  Her research investigates the impact of the EU Cross-border Cooperation Programmes on the Central-Eastern European borders such as: German – Polish and Slovakian-Polish border areas.  It focuses also on the role of cross-border cooperation in a broadly understood European Integration.

Urszula's further academic interests include EU policies and governance, European Integration theories, political and economical development of Central Eastern Europe, women’s political activity in Europe, European Comparative Studies.
