Marcin Dabrowski graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po) in 2006. As part of his MRes he has conducted research on the impact of the EU structural funds on Polish administrative system and civil society.

Currently Marcin is a research student at the Centre for Contemporary European Studies and pursues a comparative study of institutional transformations and arrangements put in place to satisfy the specific structural funds’ framework in Poland. His PhD research addresses questions related to institutional capacity building and partnership within regions and is partially funded by the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES).

Apart from his PhD thesis, he has been involved in several other research projects focusing on such topics as perceptions of globalisation in Poland (with Prof. Francois Bafoil, CERI-Sciences Po Pars), horizontal partnership as part of EU Structural Funds programmes and innovation policy in the peripheral regions of Northern Europe (at the European Policies Research Centre, University of Strathclyde). Marcin Dabrowski has published several articles based on his research in recognized British and French journals. He has also been teaching European Politics, International Economics, Entrepreneurship as well as Central and East European Studies at various Universities across Scotland.
