All students at the University of Paisley can access a unique range of services and resources to begin their entrepreneurial career! This service is provided free to students by PERC and the SIE, together with a range of local partners. For more information on any of these initiatives, contact the Enterprise coordinator.
Assistance with Starting a Business
All initial enquiries about start-up assistance should be made to the PERC / SIE Enterprise coordinator, who can provide you with information on planning, access to mentors connection to organisations that provide business incubation, investment and the £100,000 SIE patent fund.
Free Student Business Cards
Students interested in starting a business or in the process of doing so are eligible to apply for a subsidised supply of business cards courtesy of the SIE! These can be personalised. Contact us to learn more.
PERC Business Plan Competition - Thousands of £’s Prizes
PERC are fortunate to have a number of awards available to our student entrepreneurs. The two main awards at the University are the William Elder Award and the Paisley Hammermen Award as well as prizes for each campus and awards for ideas supported by the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust. The SIE National Business Plan Competition
Last year Paisley produced two teams winning places in the to the final. Both teams are moving forward with their business ideas! This year each higher education institution is allowed to submit a maximum of 4 plans to the competition. More details.
