Audio-Visual Communications & Networks Group (AVCN)
The main research interests of the Audio-Visual Communications & Networks Group (AVCN) include three themes:
- Video and image compression standards for multimedia applications
- Audio signal processing
- Wireless and mobile networks

Recent projects have been funded by the three major national and international funding sources:
- UK EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council),
- EU (European Union)
- KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnerships)
