Testimonials

Lawrence Kerr, Rockstar North
Lawrence Kerr“Two months after graduating in 2006, I was hired by Rockstar North in Edinburgh to work on "Grand Theft Auto IV” where I designed and programmed 15 missions for the game. This is a dream job for me, and I now play a vital role in delivering some of the industry's most successful games. The Computer Games Technology course at UWS gave me the key skills and an excellent programming foundation that is essential to making it in the games industry.”
Richard Rowan, Codeplay
Richard Rowen“My time studying Computer Games Technology really set me up for life in the industry. A good mix of group and individual projects stimulate positive working techniques. The wide spectrum of subjects, both game and non-game related, enabled me to get a job out with the games industry in a compiler company. The course was demanding, enjoyable and importantly, relevant for getting a job after completion."

Barry Wood, Blitz Games Studios
“When I left high school, I had no prior programming knowledge and worried this would be a major hinderance to my development.  My fears were soon settled though, as I realised the course tended to my every needs as an aspiring games programmer, and taught me everything I needed to know from the ground up.

The staff were intelligent, friendly and approachable and were always there to lend a guiding hand.  In 2007 I graduated from my honours class, and just one week later started my first job at Blitz Games Studios as a junior games programmer, along with two other students in my class!  I've now been at Blitz for over a year, and am considered a valuable asset to the company, a testament to the course at UWS which taught me the skills I use almost every day.

This proves that even those with no prior programming knowledge can attain their dream job in this competitive industry, with the help of the Computer Games Technology course at UWS.”
