BA Childhood Studies
Partnership with Practitioners in the Early Years Sector
Students on the programme undertake a workplace based module every semester. The placement vary from pre-three centres, three to five years settings and primary 1-3 in the primary school. They range geographically from North Glasgow to Dumfries and Galloway. Meetings to discuss and evaluate the programme of study take place between BA Childhood Studies tutors and placement mentors every semester, across the University's campuses.
Discussion with Scottish Social Services Council
The development of the programme of study the subject of ongoing discussion with the SSSC and it has been ensured that the programme meets conditions recommended:
- Workplace is embedded;
- Management content is given high priority;
- The principles of SSSC are reflected in the programme.
