Welcome to Effective Learning

Enhancing Student Learning at UWS

Working within the Centre for Academic and Professional Development, the Effective Learning Team provides academic advice, guidance and resources to help you to develop and enhance the skills you will need during your time at University and beyond. Effective Learning Tutors can assist in the development of a wide range of academic skills including academic writing; referencing and avoiding plagiarism; critical analysis; studying and exam techniques; presentation skills; and Personal Development Planning (PDP).

The Effective Learning Team also work with staff to embed learning skills into the curriculum and support the development of new and innovative practice in this area. Effective Learning Tutors may also provide sessions delivered as an integral part of your module.

The Effective Learning service supports the University's commitment to enhance the quality of learning and teaching, encouraging students and staff to adopt a proactive and positive approach to critical self reflection and continuous improvement.
