Equality Impact Assessment
Equality Impact Assessment is a method by which organisations can examine the design, delivery or development of their activities and services to ensure there is no potential for discrimination against any people with protected characteristics.
Implementation of Impact Assessment is an important part of our work in enhancing equality of opportunity and in understanding difference.
The aim of Impact Assessment is to examine policies, practices and decisions in a structured way to make sure that adverse effects on protected groups are avoided or mitigated. It is also a tool to enable us to assess what positive steps we can take to promote equality of opportunity and measure the results of the actions we have taken.
