The Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society.
SAGES is a strategic initiative, pooling world-leading expertise in geoscience from across Scotland’s research base, creating an multi-disciplinary alliance at the forefront of earth and environmental research. SAGES is a partnership between the Universities of Aberdeen, Abertay, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, Stirling, SAMS UHI, SUERC, and the University of the West of Scotland.
At the University of the West of Scotland we are particularly involved in the SAGES cross cutting themes encompassing Society and Knowledge Transfer

UWS has been awarded a SAGES PhD studentship for research into the "Vulnerability of local communities in Scotland to future climate change and climate-related policies" - the research, in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, will commence in September
