MICROSCALE SENSORS is in the Institute of Physical Research in the University's School of Engineering. Since the group began in 2001, we have attracted more than £5m of funding. We have a strong team of PhD students and Research Fellows and well-equipped research labs.
Microscale Sensors people have expertise in device design and applications of Ultrasonics, Magnetics, and Optics, and generic skills in Mathematical Modelling, Finite Element Analysis, Thin Film and Bulk Materials Processing, Device Packaging, Instrumentation and Device Performance Validation.
We recognise the importance of collaboration with academic groups and commercial organisations, at local, national and international levels, and we have established several joint projects through the wide variety of publicly and privately-funded mechanisms open to University research groups.
