Taxis in and around Paisley
There are taxi ranks outside of the main terminal at Glasgow airport and outside of Paisley Gilmour Street train station. However if you wish to book a taxi then a reliable local taxi company is Paisley Taxis at 0141 887 7770.
Travelling to Paisley
By air - Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is located on the outskirts of Paisley. Glasgow International airport is served by from across the UK and Europe, USA, Canada, the Caribbean and Pakistan, including several budget airlines. Glasgow Prestwick airport (PIK) lies close to Ayr on the Firth of Clyde and has low-cost flights from many British and European locations. Prestwick has a direct rail connection and good road links to Paisley and Glasgow. Edinburgh International Airport (EDI) is served by direct flights from throughout Europe, the USA and Canada and is linked to Paisley by the M8 motorway and by rail from Edinburgh Haymarket train station.
Please note that the last train from Prestwick Airport to Paisley is around 23:00. If you arrive later than this time at Prestwick then the best option is to take a taxi. A taxi from Prestwick (in Ayr) to Paisley will cost around £45-50 and will take 30-40 minutes.
By train - Paisley Gilmour Street train station has several services per hour from Glasgow Central Station. The train journey from Glasgow to Paisley takes approximately 10 minutes and costs around £3. Long-distance services connect Glasgow to all major British cities, either into Glasgow Central or Glasgow Queen Street stations. Travellers from Europe can connect to the Eurostar service through the Channel Tunnel to the terminal at London Waterloo International.
By car - Paisley lies approximately 10 miles south-west of Glasgow and is best reached using the M8 motorway. The M8 is a direct main road link to Edinburgh and connects to the M74 for travellers from England. From the west (e.g. Prestwick airport) take the A78 trunk road northwards past Irvine to Kilwinning, then join the A737 to join the M8 at Junction 29.

Local travel between hotel and conference
For the duration of the conference a bus service will be provided between the Purple Hotel and the Paisley Campus.
The Purple Hotel is approximately 10 minutes by taxi from the UWS Paisley campus, from Paisley Gilmour Street train station and from Glasgow International Airport. A taxi journey between these locations will cost around £5-£8. Detailed instructions giving the route to the hotel by car may be found at the hotel website.
