The Competition
The Large Hadron Collider is a major project at the forefront of physics research.
• What is it?
• Why has it been built?
• What are the questions that it will answer?
To enter you should produce a piece of work describing the Large Hadron Collider to your fellow students. Entries can be as a podcast, in the form of a video or audio clip, a written article suitable for a school newspaper, a poster, or a piece of artwork.
Entries can be made by individual students or by groups of students in S3/S4 and in S5/S6. The winning student in each age group will win a prize of £100, with a prize of £150 awarded to the winning group entry in each age range. In addition, the school of the winning entrants will receive a prize.
Entries will be judged according to originality, creativity, suitability for the target audience and physics content. Originality is important -
please don’t just reproduce the Wikipedia page for “Large Hadron Collider”!
