Student Absence Notification Procedures
Inform your School that you have flu
If you have flu, or the symptoms of flu, then you should not attend classes at the University or (if you are on a work-based learning placement) at your place of work.
You must let your School know that you will be absent from classes by contacting them in line with the new Absence Notification Policy. Use the relevant e-mail address, below. Give your name and student ID number in the title box of the e-mail and your programme details in the main text box. You will be given instructions by your School on what you must do when you return to the University. A self-certificate should be completed for absences of up to 7 days, and where the absence is for longer than 7 consecutive days, supporting evidence for non-attendance, eg a medical certificate, must be provided.
If you are on a work based learning placement then you must also inform your employer or placement provider of your absence.
