Athens Accounts

Use your Athens username and password to access the electronic journal articles, ebooks, newspapers and databases listed on the pages here.

An Online Guide to Athens is available. You may be required to log in with your Blackboard username and password.

An Announcement on My UWS Library on Blackboard tells you exactly what your Athens username and password will be (we are not allowed to give this information on a public site).

If you have changed your Athens password and have forgotten it, you can reset it at this Athens page. You will need to know your student email address and the new password will be sent there.

Students have an Athens username and password created automatically from enrolment details. The account will expire at the end of each academic year. An email message is sent to your student email box giving details of your Athens username and password.

Please note you are advised to change your password by logging into My Athens at http://www.athens.ac.uk as soon as possible.

For continuing students Athens details remain the same as in previous years.

If you have difficulties or questions about your Athens username and password please contact your campus library below.

An Athens username and password, available free to staff and students, is required to access many of the Library's databases, electronic journals and electronic books. Enquiry desk staff can answer your questions about how Athens works.

Students have an account created automatically when they enrol each year.

University staff who require an Athens account should contact their campus library.
