Creative & Cultural Industries Festival 10am – 6pm

A free interactive event for students, employers and practitioners.

  • Focussing on the launch of the Creative Choices website  in a day-long event bringing together students, employers and practitioners
  • Organised by students for students
  • Supported by Faculty Academic staff and the Employability Link
  • Activities across a range of Creative Industries

    Commercial Music - Dragons Den
    Commercial Music students will be pitching their ideas to a panel of industry practitioners for their expert feedback.

    News Day
    3rd Year UWS Journalism Students will be running a newsroom and will produce a newspaper on the Festival.

    Scottish Poetry Corner
    Book a personal poetry reading while relaxing with a cup of coffee in the Library Learning Space. (10am - 2pm)

Participate in workshops around small business start-up, freelancing, enterprise and entrepreneurship and get advice from industry experts.

You can also book onto a programme of sessions including music business, performance, illustrated talks, poetry, speet pitching, creative workshops, and more.

There will be live music in:
Student Union Refectory - 1pm-2pm
Caffe Luna from 7pm-9pm
Students' Union (Over 18s only) from 9pm-11pm

'Safety Net' - a short play by 3rd year UWS Performance Students - Student Union Refectory - 12-12.30pm
