RENOWNED SCOTS SCRIPTWRITER AND UNIVERSITY LECTURER TO DELIVER COMEDY FORUM

Stuart Hepburn with students at UWS.Top Scottish scriptwriter and actor, Stuart Hepburn is set to deliver a comedy writing workshop at Alloa Library, Clackmannashire on Tuesday 5 February 2008 at 7.30pm.

Stuart, who in addition to being a Lecturer in Scriptwriting and Performance at the University of the West of Scotland, is Clackmannanshire Council’s co-writer in residence and has written for popular TV programmes such as a Taggart, Rebus, and Monarch of the Glen as well as feature films, The James Gang and A Love Divided.

The workshop is suitable for all levels of writers and will give a valuable insight into the skills required for comedy writing.

Stuart Hepburn said: "I am delighted in my role as Clackmannanshire Council’s co-writer in residence to be able to present this writers forum. Writing comedy is extremely challenging and I plan to draw on my own experiences to illustrate some of the techniques that can be implemented when you are writing for laughs!”

This workshop is supported by the Scottish Art Council partners programme in conjunction with Council’s Cultural and Community. Scotland’s Artist Residency Programme is supported by the National Lottery through the Scottish Arts Council.
