Research and Teaching Interests
Teaching from a cross-disciplinary perspective
across sociology, social anthropology, media and cultural studies,
particular areas of research interest include a focus on the sociology of
community and identity; the
politicisation of cultural resources as mediated texts; sociology of the body;
sociology of heritage and the sociology of place with particular reference to
broadcasting and media debates on representational form, discourse and ideology
that constructs ‘localness’, marginality and peripherality.
