Full Time undergraduates
Full time undergraduate courses are funded by either one of the following authorities::
To qualify for assistance you must be eligible under the criteria set out by each of the above authorities. These criteria may relate to residency, previous study etc. You should use the links above to find out what you're entitled to.
You must apply for your student support annually and should do this in advance of enrolment to avoid any delay in accessing your funding.
Full-time Postgraduates
Funding at postgraduate level is very different than undergraduate funding. Not all postgraduate courses are funded. SAAS will provide a limited number of funded places to some courses and you should check with the academic department to find out if you have been offered one of the funded places.
The SAAS website explains more about what courses are supported. It should be noted that PGDE or PGDipCE are treated differently than other postgraduate courses.
Part time undergraduate
Part time undergraduate courses are not funded by SAAS/LEA's or Library Boards. There are various funding methods for part time students and care should be taken to ensure you choose the best one for you.

PART TIME POSTGRADUATE
Not all postgraduate courses are funded. SAAS will provide a limited number of funded places to some courses and you should check with the academic department to find out if you have been offered one of the funded places.

NURSING AND MIDWIFERY
Funding for Nursing and Midwifery courses is provided through a different funsing scheme but is still administered by SAAS. The SAAS website details the financial support available and how you can apply.
Need to repeat the year?
If you have failed all or part of the academic year, we can provide help with the following:
- advising if you have grounds for repeat year funding appeals
- advising on how you can pay for further attempts at the year and what support is available
- helping you budget if you have the added expense of paying tuition fees
