SPACE OF CONTEMPLATION
The University is keen to support students and staff of all faiths, beliefs and those who have no such beliefs. We have therefore set aside a ‘Space of Contemplation’ at each campus which is available to all members of staff and enrolled students. This facility is solely managed by UWS and in order to ensure equality of access and fair treatment we ask that you follow the guidelines below:
- Please book the room through the contacts listed below. Please note that availability is for the use of enrolled students, staff and partner institutions only.
- Please book by phone, e-mail or in person at least 24 hours before use. Availability will be on a first come, first served basis. The key must be collected within 15 minutes of the start time and if not collected the room may be released for the use of others.
- Block bookings can be made for one trimester only.
- At Paisley Campus the key to the room can be collected from the Student Link by the person who made the booking (or a representative) on production of a current student enrolment card and this person will be held responsible for ensuring that the room is used appropriately. Cards will be returned on receipt of the key. Members of Staff can also book the room through the Student Link.
- The room will be available Monday to Friday from 9.00 am until 8.45 pm. In situations when the key cannot be returned at the end of the day then it must be returned to the Student Link at 8.45 am the following morning. The Student Link is normally open until 4.45pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and to 6.30pm on Monday and Wednesday. The key must be picked up before the Student Link closes.
- Religious items and posters are permitted for worship and storage space is provided for them. Please ensure that all items are stored away again before leaving the room.
- Any group or individual found to be in breach of these guidelines may have their access to the room suspended or even removed.
- Please do not consume any food or drink within the room.
- Please switch off all mobile phones.
Please contact the Student Link to book the Space of Contemplation at each campus.
