  • Microsoft Office 365 Email Account

    Please follow the instructions below to access your account.

    • The address for access to your student email account is: http://student365mail.uws.ac.uk  
    • Enter your ID:
      bannerid@studentmail.uws.ac.uk
      Your bannerID can be found on the bottom left-hand corner of your student ID card and your password which will initially be set to uws and your Date of Birth as a 6 digit password uwsddmmyy.
    • On first login to this account you will be required to complete a section in order to reset your initial password (uws+your date of birth) to a new one and to set yourself a security question in the event that you forget your password.
    • You will then be required to log in again with your new password.
    • Select your vision experience, language and set your time zone.
    • You are now logged into your email account.
    • Forwarding from studentmail to personal email account

    All students are strongly advised to use their Microsoft Office 365 Email Account as all student email communication made from within Banner, Moodle and the Library systems will be sent to your student email address (bannerID@studentmail.uws.ac.uk). Student email accounts are not administered by the University therefore it is up to you to take responsibility for the content or security of any emails sent or received.

    Microsoft Office 365 includes your favorite Office features online and allows you to create sophisticated reports and presentations, collaborate in real time with classmates, and share and edit documents from your phone, PC, or Mac.

    What does this mean for you?

    You will have two separate accounts with the same user name and password. These are the same as you currently use to access your Student Email.

    1. Office 365 account. This account gives you access to your student email. UWS Information Services Helpdesk administers this account.
    2. Personal Microsoft account. This personal account will give you access to all of your existing SkyDrive content, Messenger, and other Microsoft services. Note that UWS no longer administer this account. As a result, we cannot reset this password for you.

    What should you expect?
    Email. We will continue to use Microsoft Outlook Web App to view and send email, but you will sign in at a different website.

    What do you need to do?
    Complete the following steps:
    1. If you are using Internet Explorer 6 or 7 at home, upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer.
    2. Access your email and calendar at http://student365mail.uws.ac.uk
    3. Sign into SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com
