online enrolment from mid august 2011
From mid-August 2011 continuing students will be able to avoid the queues and enrol online. New, full time students will enrol in person at the University for session 2011, and from 2012 all students will enrol online.
Follow this link to Online Enrolment to find out more about enrolling online.
Student Cards
At enrolment you will receive a Student ID card. If you are a continuing student enrolling online, your Student ID card will be sent to you by post. If you are a new student enrolling online, you will need to supply a passport sized photograph, with your name and Banner ID on the reverse, to your Campus Student Administration Services office, and your card will then be sent to you by post.
Your student ID number (Banner ID) is an eight figure number which is your unique identifier at the University; the first two figures denote the session in which you began at University. Your student ID card is important as it will enable you access to the Library and Sports Centre. In addition, it will be required as proof of identity and valid student status for entrance to examination halls and collection of grant or loan cheques.
Lost student ID cards can be replaced at your campus Student Administration Office for a fee of £6/card . This fee must be paid at Finance prior to attending the Student Administration Office and receipt of payment must be provided.
How Do I Change Modules?
[ Top of page ]
All students must be registered for the modules they are taking each year. At the beginning of each session you will be registered for the modules you are taking. It is vital that you are registered correctly. If you do not register for the correct assessed modules you may be excluded from examination halls and processing of your results..
Depending on your programme, you may be able to change your modules within the first two weeks of the start of the trimester. Your request for a change of module should be discussed with your Personal Tutor within your School, or if you are a part time student with an Educational Adviser in Lifelong Learning Academy.
How Do I Change my Programme Of Study?
[ Top of page ]
If you intend to change course, this must first be agreed between the programme leader of your existing course and the admissions officer on the course which you wish to join. You must then approach Student Administration to complete a Change of Programme form. This is a two stage process - the form must be completed, signed by the existing and the new course leaders before being returned to the Student Administration Office on your Campus. Your Programme Change is complete once you receive your new student ID card.
How Do I Change Address?
[ Top of page ]
You are required to notify the Director of Student Administration of any change in your permanent home or term-time addresses. These addresses are used by the University to notify you of important details regarding your course and examination results. It is therefore very important that the address held on our records is accurate. If you have changed address you must contact Student Administration and fill in a Change of Address Form. It is essential that Student Administration is kept up to date of your current address and also of your emergency contact details.
How Do I Withdraw From My Course?
You must advise the Programme Leader for your programme of study if you are withdrawing from your programme. Collect a Student Withdrawal Form from the campus Student Administration Office and take the completed form to your School office for processing.
