UniBuddy Privacy Notice
The University of the West of Scotland will process data collected about you by our partners Unibuddy. For the purposes of the data protection legislation, Unibuddy will act as the data processor and the University will act as the data controller. What type of information will be collected about you?
The information collected about you will normally include:
- Name
- Email address
- Programme of study that you are interested in
- Country of origin
- Conversation history
You have the option of providing your mobile telephone number in order to recieve WhatsApp/SMS notifications that your enquiry has been responded to.
How will we use your information?
We will use the information we hold about you to facilitate your access the Unibuddy platform, enabling you to connect with other prospective students and ambassadors from the University. We will also use it as a means to provide tailored information to you on studying at the University and about the programme of study that you are interested in.
Why do we need to process your personal data?
We need to process your personal data to be able to offer access to the Unibuddy platform and to enable the University to provide you with tailored information on studying at UWS.
How long will we keep your information for?
We will keep your information for up to three years, at which time it will be securely destroyed.
