The Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) is a credit-bearing course aimed at those who teach at a Higher Education level. This Masters-level Certificate combines practice-based learning with face-to-face sessions and online activities. It enables you to develop your understanding of learning, teaching and assessment through reflection on your practice, while working with participants from other disciplines to build a community of practice.
You will take three 20-credit modules, one per term, carried out alongside your teaching. The programme isn't taught in the summer (Term 3) so it usually takes around 18 months to complete.
The PgCAP is accredited by Advance HE and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
More information can be found on the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice page and you can apply directly to the University through our online application system. If you have any questions, please contact the PgCAP programme leader, Dr Eilidh Kane (firstname.lastname@example.org).
