What we offer
Our programmes are developed with the professions, and include extensive links with professional bodies, excellent facilities, and teaching from staff who have experience of working with major sporting organisations. We offer the following undergraduate programmes:
Learning & Further Study
Placement learning is a key aspect of our courses in order that our students develop the practical skills relevant to the modern sports, health and fitness industries. UWS Sport graduates build careers in professional sport; the commercial fitness and leisure industry; and sports development. Other employment prospects include exercise testing in the health service; physical activity and health promotion; and active schools. Our programmes also prepare you for postgraduate study, including research degrees, primary and secondary teaching, and physiotherapy.
The course was excellent at matching theory to applied experience. Studying at UWS, I felt like a confident practitioner, even before I was a practitioner.
- Jeffrey Webster, BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching graduate and Sport Psychology Consultant
The placement I undertook was vital to my career. I wouldn’t have the job I have now if it wasn't for the time I spent there during my studies.
- Craig Mowat, BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science graduate and Head of Academy Sports Science & Medicine at Motherwell Football Club

DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

And he is grateful for the role that UWS played in allowing him the flexibility to study whilst also forging his career as a professional table tennis player.
