Andrew was until 2017 the Chief Executive of Canmore Partnership Ltd, a specialist public use infrastructure company which he co-founded in 1995. He led the company in many high profile projects, including the development of the new Victoria and Stobhill Hospitals in Glasgow and the Inverness Airport Terminal for Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd.
From 1991 to 1994 he was Executive Director, Corporate Development and External Affairs of Health Care International (Scotland) Limited (HCI). Andrew was a key player in HCI's start up and in the building of its state-of-the-art academic medical campus. Before that he was a Merchant Banker with Samuel Montagu & Co. Ltd in London (now HSBC Investment Banking). Here he provided senior level consultancy, strategic planning and financing packages to public and private sector clients in Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.
He graduated in Political Studies from Aberdeen University. During his time at University he held the positions of President of the Student Representative Council and Rector’s Assessor. Andrew has also held non-executive roles acting as a mentor to Children’s Classic Concerts and to the HR company Clearwater Brookes during its start-up. He also sat on the British Waterways Board Scottish Advisory Group.
