Waiyin Is Founder/Director of Wai Beyond, which inspires and nurtures greatness in people, teams and organisations. Prior to that, she has enjoyed working across the public and not-for-profit sectors in health care for 38 years in England, Wales and lastly as Chief Executive of NHS Ayrshire and Arran, describing her leadership role as ‘creating an environment to succeed’.
She believes everyone is a star, promoting continuous professional and personal development, acting as role-model, coaching and mentoring. As first Chair of Institute of Healthcare Management (Scotland), she expanded its focus beyond professional to personal development and to women in leadership. As a former international karate podium medallist for over 12 years, she co-coached students to similar successes. As co-founder and Chair of Ayrshire Sportsability Trust, she promotes health and well-being through sports for people with a disability.
She is currently Vice-Chair of Scottish Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Action Against Stalking. She was also past President of Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, and Vice-Chair of Ayrshire College. In 2015, Waiyin received the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow award. She also won the Association of Scottish Business-women Best Business-Charity Partnership Award.
