Caroline studied Molecular Biology and went on to a career in higher education. She held posts at Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities before moving to what was then the University of Paisley as Professor and Head of Biological Sciences in 1992. She then spent 7 years as Assistant Principal with responsibility for Research before taking up Executive posts at Glasgow Caledonian then Teesside Universities. During this time she had responsibility for teaching and learning, student experience, partnerships, quality assurance and enhancement and international student recruitment. She retired from her post as Deputy Vice Chancellor at Teesside in 2014.
Caroline has Board experience in colleges in both Scotland and England, an academy and a Foundation Trust and is also a member of the Glasgow Colleges Regional Board and the Corporation Board of NCG. Caroline is passionate about providing educational opportunities to everyone who can benefit from them.
