Counselling and Wellbeing
The Counselling and Wellbeing Team are here to help you look after your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether you are currently going through a difficult period, or simply want to get the best out of your time at UWS, we are here for you.
We offer a variety of options to support you and help you flourish. These include Wellbeing Appointments, our Out-of-Hours, and lots of resources for Self Help – including our Reading for Wellbeing booklist and SilverCloud, our easy to follow, online therapeutic programme.
Our services are free, confidential, and available to all UWS students.
Our counsellors are fully qualified, committed to working to Professional Standards, familiar with the university environment and the demands of student life.
We aim to create a safe, affirming, and welcoming environment which embraces human diversity. It is particularly important to us to provide equality of services and care to everyone, regardless of age, ability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or belief. We welcome all enquiries and will do our best to help.
If you are an international student and would like to find out more about how the University’s Counselling and Wellbeing Team can help you, this video will tell you more.
If you are a care-experienced student, an estranged student or a student carer, you can find out about additional, ongoing support at UWS here.
If you have experienced inappropriate behaviour, such as gender-based violence, bullying and harassment, discrimination, hate crime and racism you can report it anonymously or provide contact details and get support from a UWS adviser here.
If your issues are mostly academic, you might want to check out our Support for Study services.
