Transforming barriers to effective economic development in Africa into enablers
CAREED is delighted to present some 25 papers across four broad themes at its 3rd Annual conference. These papers relate to African economic development: Commodities and Trade; African Enterprise; Logistics and Supply Chain: and Governance, Microfinance, and HR. These 4 themes reflect the key objectives of CAREED given its focus on enterprise and economic development.
This year we have two major workshops in our programme:
These workshops will have contributions from practitioner organisations based in Scotland who work on various aspects of economic development in Africa. We will also be screening with a Q&A session, the film “Colours of the Alphabet”, led by the film’s producer Professor Nick Higgins of the School of Media, Culture, and Society at UWS.
We are especially honoured to welcome Dr Alice Sindzingre of the CNRS (France), and Research Centre, EconomiX-University Paris-Nanterre, who will give this year’s Keynote Address. As in previous years, we will also have The Africa Debate, which will allow for interactive discussion on the key challenges and opportunities relevant to African economic development in the years ahead.
