And because we are proud to encourage and promote Scotland’s amazing creative industries you can round off your visit with a live performance by one of Scotland’s most exciting new bands.
Student life and information. Here you can discover the range of activities and opportunities to help round out your UWS student experience including a broad range of support for students, student finance, SAAS funding, admissions, widening participation, opportunities to study abroad, sport demonstrations from student teams, wellbeing support, accommodation tours, Student Association (SAUWS) and campus tours.
We’re also proud to encourage and promote the development of Scotland’s amazing creative industries and to round off your evening there will be a 30-min set by one of Scotland’s most exciting bands, Randolph's Leap, who met and formed while studying on our Commercial Music degree!
Randolph's Leap is an eight piece indie-pop band whose band members, past and present, have included five University of the West of Scotland graduates, having met and bonded while studying Commercial Music in Ayr between 2006 and 2010.
The course allowed singer Adam Ross to develop his songwriting and sound production skills as well as introducing him to like-minded musicians who would later join his band: Gareth Perrie (keyboards), Vicki Cole (bass), Iain Taylor (drums) and Andy MacLellan (guitar). Although Gareth and Iain have moved on to new adventures, the band maintain a strong link to the university through Adam, Vicki and Andy.
The band’s official debut album Clumsy Knot was released in 2014. The band tours frequently in the UK.
You must pre-register to attend this event, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We cannot guarantee entry on the day if you haven’t pre-registered.
