Interested in a career in Secondary teaching? Our initial teacher training provision is highly regarded: ranked first in the UK by the Guardian University Guide (2020) and The Times/The Sunday Times' Good University Guide (2020).

Why not come along to the UWS Ayr Campus on the evening of Monday 25th November to see what we have to offer and to see if you have what it takes to guide and nurture talent in the next and subsequent generations of school pupils. There are few careers that can be as rewarding as helping pupils reach their full potential and develop into independent learners - teachers really do help change lives and society.

Our Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Secondary course provides the formal teaching qualification for provisional registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) preparing you for a career in secondary school teaching. We have (PGDE) Secondary Education teaching courses in

  • Art & Design
  • Biology with Science
  • Chemistry with Science
  • Physics with Science
  • English
  • French/German/Spanish
  • Mathematics
  • Physical Education

Join us on Monday 25th November between 5pm and 6.30pm to find out about our range of secondary courses. The evening will start with a tour of the campus and will be followed up by a welcome presentation and subject specific sessions. The event will close with a question and answer session.

The UWS Ayr Campus is located at University Avenue, Ayr KA8 OSX. Ayr railway station is a 10-15 minute walk from the campus, with regular trains from Glasgow; for those who wish to travel by car, there will also be on-campus parking available on the night.
