Join us for a week of activities to give your wellbeing a boost, ahead of this year’s #WorldMentalHealthDay. This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health for All’ and at UWS, we’re here to provide a whole host of opportunities to help you promote positive mental wellbeing throughout your student journey.

Photography competition – All week
Put your artistic skills to the test and enter our photography competition, to stand the chance of winning a £20 Amazon voucher and have your artwork promoted across our social media channels. Entries should be around the theme ‘Mental Health for All’- whatever that means to you. The closing date for entries is Friday 9th October, and winners will be revealed on World Mental Health Day. Email your pictures to counselling@uws.ac.uk
‘Zoom-in to Wellbeing’ drop-in sessions – Monday 5th – Friday 9th October, 2-4pm
Our counselling team will be opening their virtual door, from 2-4pm each day to give you the chance to have a brief, informal chat in a safe and friendly environment, find out a bit more about what we do, and the support we can offer to you. No need to book, just drop in via Zoom any day that week – email wellbeingservice@uws.ac.uk and we’ll email you over all of the details.
Careers Achievement Awards info session - Monday 5th October, 11-11.30am
Feeling a sense of achievement can be a great way of giving our wellbeing a welcome boost - find out more about our Careers Achievement Awards, covering the Volunteer Recognition Award, Aspire Award and the Employer Mentoring Programme, in this new Zoom session hosted by the Careers Team – all welcome!

Bitesize exercise sessions - Tuesday 6th October
Physical exercise has so many benefits for our mental health, so join us on Tuesday 6th October to take part in some bitesize exercise sessions with a wellbeing focus, led by the fantastic Team UWS.

‘Mind and Draw’ workshop - Wednesday 7th October, 1-2pm
Fancy getting creative? Come along to one of our free online 'Mind and Draw' workshop, and give both your creativity and mental wellbeing a boost, while meeting with other like-minded students! Sign up to take part in creative exercises, think about how you look after your mind and chat to other UWS students - all without any pressure.

Join Mind for this free interactive workshop and mental health resource hub to help you understand and manage your wellbeing while at University and beyond. Places are limited so register today.
‘Myths and Legends of Scotland and Paisley’ - Wednesday 7th October, 2.30 – 3.30pm
Join the International Team for their virtual welcome tour of Scotland ‘Myths and Legends of Scotland and Paisley’. A fun, cultural introduction to Scotland for all UWS international students with Gary Brown from Keltic Ginger.

Introduction to UK Culture interactive session - Thursday 8th October, 1.30 – 2.30pm
A light-hearted interactive introduction to UK Culture for all UWS international students. Find out more about British culture, social etiquette and making British friends. Learn some British jokes and slang and find out about weird and wonderful British festivals and superstitions. Interact with fellow participants and share your own culture and learn some tips to help you settle into life in the UK.

Virtual drop-ins for Care Experienced, Estranged students and for students with caring responsibilities – Monday 5th – Friday 9th October
If you are care-experienced, estranged from family or have caring responsibilities, come along to one of our virtual drop-ins taking place every day throughout the week, and make connections with other like-minded students.
