Passionate about all things UWS and keen to shout about what makes the University such an exciting place to study? Then our UWS Student Ambassador roles could be the perfect fit for you.
Working within the Marketing and Student Recruitment department, our team of UWS Student Ambassadors are responsible for providing support and advice, and for sharing their own UWS experiences to help prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students make that all-important decision of choosing where they’d like to study.
Student Ambassadors support Student Recruitment events such as Open Days and Offer Holder Sessions, offer study advice to prospective UWS students through our Applicant Enquiry Team, and are often asked to work on various other student recruitment and marketing projects.

The UWS Student Ambassador roles are open to undergraduate and postgraduate Scottish, UK, EU and international students currently studying at the University – so if you think you fit the bill, we’d love to hear from you!
Wondering what it takes to become a UWS Student Ambassador? Here are the skills and attitudes we’re keen to see:
You’ll be a real people person with a can-do attitude who’s keen to share their own experiences of the University to promote what sets UWS apart.
You’ll be a confident communicator, who is comfortable promoting UWS and advising people from all backgrounds via phone, email and social media platforms.
You’ll have a real drive to help others and constantly be open to new ways of working to help prospective students make the decisions that are best for them.
You’ll have outstanding communication skills with exceptional spoken and written English.
Plus, our friendly and experienced team will be right by your side to help you develop your skillset and get the most of your time as a UWS Student Ambassador.
This role will initially be home-based in line with current government guidance. However, in normal circumstances, Student Ambassadors are based within the Applicant Enquiry office at our Paisley campus, with the option to be based at our Lanarkshire campus where possible.
Hours of work will be variable and on average will tend to be around 4-10 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours during busier periods. The working pattern is very flexible so that it fits around your studies and any other commitments you may have.
