Ukraine Conflict
University of the West of Scotland is shocked by the unfolding situation in Ukraine and condemns the horrendous violence that has been inflicted on the country and its citizens.
As a global university with a diverse, international community of students and staff, we are deeply concerned by the situation and stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
UWS is here to support our community and professional counselling is available to UWS students of all nationalities between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (to make an appointment please contact the hub on 0141 848 3800). Outwith these hours, students can call the UWS student support line, free of charge, on 0800 028 3766: calls go straight through to a professional counsellor. Students can also contact the hub by email (hub@uws.ac.uk).
In addition, support is also available to any colleagues affected by the current situation via P&OD, and from line managers.
Any inappropriate behaviour can be reported via the University’s Report + Support webpages.
At UWS, we pride ourselves on being a compassionate and inclusive community. We continue to hope for reflection, restraint and a swift end to the crisis in Ukraine.
