Easy access to Library resources - Databases

UWS Library subscribes to a wide range of external websites and provides free access to students and staff.

Bibliographic databases are subject-specific search engines related to an area of study or profession. They index journals, articles, guidance and other documents. A selection of the main databases available at UWS are listed on the One Search homepage. You may need to login to using your student / staff username and password, particularly if you are off-campus.

Acceptable Use

The Library signs a licence with each publisher which governs the use of that publisher's database.

  • You can print or download one copy of an article or other resource for personal and non-commercial use, which includes for private study, teaching and research.
  • You can send one copy of any article or other resource to a current UWS student or member of staff.
  • If you wish to share articles or other resources with more than one other UWS student or member of staff you must do this by using appropriate sharing platforms and/or tools. Please contact the e-resources team in the Library at e-resources@uws.ac.uk for more information about this.

Not acceptable use:

  • You cannot make multiple copies of an article or other resources.
  • You cannot print or download articles or other resources for commercial use.
